Urban Ranger (Approved)

Oh good. I find myself amused by the thought of two distinct types of ranger. One can find anyone in a city, but step through the gate and oh gods no there are trees everywhere, while the other one can track anyone over a baked earth plain but oh gods the tall buildings it's too scary.

For the ultimate tracker, you could choose whichever Ranger version catches your fancy, then use a regular feat slot for the other tracking feat, and buy one of Survival or Gather Information cross-class. Maybe pick up Lesser Scent in place of the animal companion at 4th, too. Whee.

While UA doesn't quite agree, I would say that "no variant multiclassing" is the best possible ruling. If a variant and its base class really, really should allow multiclassing with each other, that could be a proposal.
I'd rather rule no unless specificly cleared. It's safer.

Since that is in opposition to the RAW, it should be a proposal.
Not realy, that's a "recomendation". RAW is you can't take the same class twice, and variant of that class is still that class.
