OOC: Going out of town for a few days. I'll bring my laptop and try to post whenever I'm near a wireless point, but I'm going camping so posting will be infrequent. I don't think it will upset the game too much, since posting is a little sporadic anyways but if you're waiting for me for 2 days + feel free to NPC my character.

Also, I have Gildrim at 11/16 at the end of last night. He recovers 3 HP naturally for a full night's rest at level 3, putting him at 22/24. If you want to retcon in a couple of CMWs to have happened in the morning, that's fine with me.

Gildrim eases the door open. The room, once a bedroom by the shape and furninshings, is now a spider lair. A very large spider lair, populated by a spider some ten feet across, who looks back at you with malevolent reddish-tinged eyes. Its mandibles clack excitedly, and it begins to move across its webs, which cover most of the room...

Behind the spider, clearly visible through layers of webbing, is a small brass key hanging from a nail.

The spider reacts first, darting forward to bite viciously at Ter-raen. Ter-raen, unprepared, takes an ugly wound flecked with a greenish tinge, but shows no ill effects from the bite other than lots of blood. (hit, 10 damage, made initial fort save vs. poison)

"This speeder's nae naitral!" Gildrim yells, and slashes at its legs. "Clear awa' ahind!"[sblock=OOC]I'm fine with not using the CmW in the morning. Gildrim uses his orisons for emergency stabilization, or at the end of a day.
Bardic knowledge 1d20+7=24.
Gildrim uses reckless offense for +2 to hit, but his AC drops to a worrying 12. :-S 1d20+7=21; 1d8+3=5; magic sword bonuses not added... shall I just start adding +1?[/sblock]
 




HP 15, AC 22 (total defense)

Ter-raen, remembering the fight previously with another creature and tight corridors, looks briefly to the rest of the group and then to Gildrim while flashing his steel in defensive patterns at the spider. "We move back like last time? Into corridor?"

[sblock=ooc]: if agreeable, he'll wait for the rest behind to push back before he does. Otherwise, it's just total defense this round.

Still working on Ter-raen's level to 3. Suddenly had a crazy idea to multiclass like a madman based on the people he adventures/d with, will see how :D

Round 1, continued

Gildrim yells instructions as he hacks recklessly at the spider, scoring a dripping black line in its body. He is starting to feel practiced enough with his new sword to be confident of its abilities. (ooc: hit. Yes, Gildrim has used the sword enough to have figured out what it does. +1 longsword, obviously.)

Karm casts a healing spell on Ter-raen and backs away, making room in the corridor. He pulls Kuma with him. (ooc: CLW cures 6)

Ter-raen takes a step back, keeping his guard high. (ooc: I wasn't entirely sure how to interpret your instructions, so I settled on a 5' step back and total defense. A withdraw action was my second choice, but without a square to move into...)

Round 2

The spider chitters angrily and bites at gildrim. The wound should only have been a scratch, but Gildrim feels dark energy pouring into it, along with the spider's poisonous saliva. Gildrim shrugs off the poison. (ooc: hits w/smite good, 8 damage. fort save made, another due in 10 rounds)
