Gildrim eases the door open. The room, once a bedroom by the shape and furninshings, is now a spider lair. A very large spider lair, populated by a spider some ten feet across, who looks back at you with malevolent reddish-tinged eyes. Its mandibles clack excitedly, and it begins to move across its webs, which cover most of the room...
Behind the spider, clearly visible through layers of webbing, is a small brass key hanging from a nail.

The spider reacts first, darting forward to bite viciously at Ter-raen. Ter-raen, unprepared, takes an ugly wound flecked with a greenish tinge, but shows no ill effects from the bite other than lots of blood.
