OOC:The front door, since Erf is currently assuming their foes to be unintelligent. If nobody objects I would say Ter-raen and Fenenn first with Erf and Gildrim just behind them.

Ter-raen holds the torch in his left hand, its burning light in front and to the left of him. In his right hand he wields his scimitar, hilt kept at his side, tip pointing forward. He moves in slowly, letting the torch illuminate the room and giving everyone enough time to see the place properly before proceeding step by step.

As Ter-raen operates the front door latch, there is an ominous click. A cloud of darts fly out from hidden holes around the door, striking Ter-raen and Fenenn multiple times! Ter-raen is only lightly wounded, but Fenenn suffers a direct hit in the throat, along with several other wounds. He collapses to the ground, howling miserably. To add insult to injury, the door fails to open under Ter-raen's hand: it is locked.

[sblock=ooc]I have both Ter-raen and Fenenn at 14 AC (flatfooted, no shield). 2 darts attack Ter-raen, and 3 attack Fenenn. Ter-raen takes 5 damage, and Fenenn takes 13, reducing him to 0 hit points. One of the things I can never figure out in D&D is which things are supposed to be dead at 0 HP and which ones die at -10, but I feel fairly sure that Fenenn is just disabled, not dead.

"Verdante's nibbled naggers!" Curses Erf raceing forward to the fallen Fenenn. The little gnome appears frantic as he begins to cast a spell which closes the worst of Fenenn's wounds.

The wolf hound moans pitiously and staggers back up onto his feet licking at a dart still protruding from his side as Erf strokes him soothingly.

"There there Fenny bobenny, ye'll be fine, ye'll be fine."

Erf moves over to Ter-aen and gives the barbarian a quick once over and apparently concluding that Fenenn is still in worse shape. Muttering to himself Erf returns to Fenenn's side and casts another spell upon the injured riding dog. A grateful Fenenn licks the little gnomes hand and seems almost himself again.

Erf then returns to Ter-raen, giving him a somewhat apologetic look as he casts two minor healing spells upon the burly Half-Orc.

"Just cure minors I'm afraid Ter-raen, but they should help a bitte bit. That's me virtually tapped out as far as healin' goes. We might wan'ta take our time here if the place is goin' to be more of the same. Maybe we could smash this door in 'n take a quick look in then go lick our wounds fer the night? I reckon stealth's out of the question any way ye jigger it. At least we're in no real hurry..."

[sblock=OOC] Erf heals Fenenn for 11 and Ter-raen for 2.

Only Undead and Constructs do not go into negative HPs. However, monsters without regeneration who the party don't want to keep alive might as well not have them for game purposes.

Ter-raen nods in thanks to Erf's magics, and looks at the wolf, narrowly brought back from the gates of hell. "Wolf going to be ok? Kick down door now good, but dangerous." Ter-raen shakes his head briefly. "Go in, go all the way in. Halfway in and out... dangerous. Come, we find place to rest nearby. This house, won't need more than two days to check."

"Fenenn'l be fine he's a tough fella aren't ye boy? Ye might be right on all the way in or nowt. So sounds like a plan te me Ter-raen. Why don't we go and keep Apikotoa company? An extra pair of eyes can't 'urt'n there's strength in numbers afterall."

Erf heads off glancing back at the house warily as he fusses over Fenenn. He heads down the hillside, assuming the others accompany him, and searches for Apikotoa's campsite where he will greet the Lizard man fondly.

Apikotoa glances up from a small fire where he is roasting a some kind of snake on a spit. "Back already?" he asks, eyes flicking to the fresh bloodstains.

ooc: Brain too fried to actually update significantly tonight, and the next few days are fairly busy for me. Bear with me if I'm a bit slow, please.

"Door was trapped I'm friad Apikotoa, so if ye don't mind we'll keep ye company fer the night 'n take another crack tomorrow when Fenenn's recovered a bitte and I've got me spells back."

Erf settles down and reluctantly beaks out some rations making faces as he does so. He also pulls out two chunks of meat for Fenenn who seems much more cheerful all of a sudden.

[sblock=OOC] No worries covaithe gives me a bit more time to try and pester for Erf's approval![/sblock]
