Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

"Well a side from the fact that Cyian got eaten by a stone we seem to be fine. But its a bitte big aside!"

Erf moves forward and detcts magic upon the stone, cautiously picking up a stick and throwing it to see if it travels through to wherever Cyian is.

Apikotoa stows his bow and casually stabs the floating corpse with his spear a few times as Gildrim reels it in. The body floats limply, unresponsive; the creature is dead.

Apikotoa straightens, and looks around. It is late afternoon, but there are still several hours of daylight left. "Next heel ees farther away. We weel not reach eet today. You want to sleep here and see eef your friend comes back, or go on? I know another dry place to sleep, closer to the next heel."

[sblock=Erf]The standing stone radiates faint divination and dim conjuration auras.[/sblock]

Erf's stick bounces harmlessly away. There is no reaction from the stone.

Reluctantly Erf heads up and touches the stone, when he fails to go through* he kicks it and scowls.

"Well I suppose we ought to stay here for the night, I couldn't rightly live with myself if we didn't at least give the lad the night to get back... After that I guess we leave him a message pointing him back to the village n' hope fer the best. What do you think guys? Best I can make out its raidatin' faint divination and conjuration magic, maybe its not active now, cause fer the little I know sommat that could take Cyian like that ought to be a bitte bit stronger than wat I'm seein'"

[sblock=*] Let me know if I a wrong here and I'll edit accordingly.[/sblock]

Erf indeed fails to disappear; the stone remaining cold and inert under his hands.

ooc: If you're going to stay on the island, can I have a new watch order, since you're a man down?

OOC: How about four three hour watches with Ter-raen, Apikotoa, Gildrim, then Erf? Trying to consider vision types for the middle of the night.

[sblock=OOC]Apikotoa has darkvision too? That's be useful. Divine spellcasters don't have the 8 hours of rest limitation I think?
[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Huh, actually Serow upon checking it appears that Lizardfolk have neither dark nor low-light vision. So I amend my suggested order to switch Erf and Apikotoa, he may not have darkvision, but he does have low-light and Fenenn has both low-light and scent. You are correct on divine casters not needing 8 hours rest - though I'm sure they prefer it![/sblock]

[sblock=Good News!]Erf has been approved by one judge and will hopefully be approved by another in the very near future. Hurray, and sorry to hold up the experience guys![/sblock]

Apikotoa readily agrees to stand the final watch. (ooc: insert any pre-bedtime preparations here.) The night is warm and sticky, and filled with a variety of unfamiliar and unpleasant squawks, squeals, chirps, growls, hisses, and other, less identifiable noises. Apikotoa seems unbothered by all this, and sleeps soundly. His lack of concern is justified when nothing more unpleasant than a light rain takes place during the night.

In the morning, Apikotoa wakes you early. The sky is gray and pensive, and the green surface of the water seems nearly colorless.

ooc: I'd update farther, but I'm at work and I need information that's at home. So, talk amongst yourselves!

Upon awaking Erf checks the stone again, proding and kicking it before finally slumping down with his back against it. After a few minutes he stands and uses a dagger to carve a clear arrow into the ground near the stone pointing back towards the village.

"Good luck Cyian, wherever ye are."

The little gnome sighs. Fenenn puts his head on Erf's lap offering up his sympathies.

Then Erf takes an hour to contemplate the glory of nature, he seems supremely contented as he watches the insects skim the surface of the water.

"Well I guess we head to that next island Apikotoa. I'm out of ideas for finding Cyian, so I guess hes the hero of his own story now. Meanwhile we've still got an Urn to find! Gildrim Ter-raen ye ready to head off?"
