Using AE classes with PHB classes

Hello Everyone!

I would like the list's opinion on something that a co-DM and I are considering. We are going to allow the AE classes into the campaign but I want to replace the Wizard with the Magister class and the Sorceror with the Witch class, we are still using the standard DnD magic system. My question is should we do anything to the PHB classes, especially the Cleric? What changes would you make in general or specifically?

Thanks,

Gil

I don't suppose there's really any reason to do anything to the cleric. The AU casters will be able to contribute to healing, but won't be as whiz-bang at it. The classes are generally balanced against one another, if you give to the cleric what is the cleric's and give to the magister what is the magister's. Which is to say, don't allow cross-list spellcasting, make sure the AU casters get their 1st level Talents, and generally force each class to use the rules that apply from its original book.

That much said, the cleric does lose some of its purpose when there are other healers around...spontaneous healers, even. I'd think about making a full convert, replacing the cleric and druid with the mage blade and greenbond. Then everyone's casting from the same place. It also prevents item creation from relying on two different systems, which if nothing else, means you have one less thing to remember when making NPCs.
