Ever wonder why MTV blurs out the logos on clothes in music videos? Hmm...

Because they aren't getting paid for what would be advertising?

Originally, it came at the request of some of the brands being worn, they didn't want their logos used when and where they had not given permission. They didn't want to be associated with the artists wearing them and flashing the labels around. I'm sure that now it has devolved into an advertising issue, but originally it was a permissions issue.

Well, the logos are a Trademark issue, not copyright. And the law is quite different.
