Value of these cool boots?

Well if you have magic of faerun you can compare it to Shaundakul's Boots.

Base Speed: +10
1/day: Double base speed (not counting boots) for 5 minutes
1/week: cast find the path (11th level caster).

They retail for 6,300 gp.

Where is this max +50 comming from?

It's an oversimplified note from an FAQ entry.

The most common way for a PC to have a base speed above 50' is to be a high level monk... but anything above 50' for a monk is Supernatural, and the Boots only multiply your normal rate, which (according to the FAQ) does not include [Su] speed.

If you were a light warhorse with a base speed of 60', that's not Su, so the Boots (well, Horseshoes) would still double your speed just fine.

Yep, just wanted a clarification. Especailly since one of my charecters is Base 50 and if I take a level of Barbarian, it would be nice to have that doubleing of 60 instead of 50 :)

My response would be "Yup, no problem."

And strictly speaking, it's not 50' that's the magic number for monks - it's 9th level. So for halflings, gnomes, and dwarves, it's anything above 40'.

An human ex-barbarian/monk would go 60' before it became Supernatural.

Yeah, I oversimplified. I was trying to avoid the usual debate of exactly HOW fast a monk with boots moves.

Now, for the real brain-teaser:

If I Awaken a warhorse, and then he takes 10 Monk levels, and he puts on the Horseshoes of Speed, how fast does he move?

YES! Now if my DM tries to stop it, all I needa say is "But but, Hypersmurf from ENWorld said "Yup no problem"!!!!! :D

You can add Ranes to that list, because according to this post, he agrees with me :)

If I Awaken a warhorse, and then he takes 10 Monk levels, and he puts on the Horseshoes of Speed, how fast does he move?

Is there a "Speed of Larger Monks" table in Sword and Fist, or just a "Damage of Larger Monks" table?

Basically, figure out how fast a 9th level monk with a racial base speed of 60 goes, and double it. The 10th level has no effect.
