Vampire: Requiem - Designing London

My current Masquerade game is coming to end in the next few months and my group and I are going to start a Requiem campaign afterwards. Normally we play American cities, but this time the players have asked for one closer to home, London.
Now, I don't know London very well at all, so I'm kinda stuck thinking about ideas for the game.

I'm brainstorming descriptives of the different areas, and need some ideas. I'm looking for words, imagery and phrases. Heres what I have at the moment (which isn't much) and considering this is the World of Darkness, any other ideas for descriptives? One thing I am trying to keep in mind that the London of the game is a mix of modern glass & steel, and Victorian London, in both look and feel.

General: Black cabs, sense of history, bobbies on the beat.
West End: Rich, theatres, restaurants, pubs, people, shops.
East End: Poor, slums, graffiti, crime, drugs, docks, warehouses, unemployment.
North London: Residential streets. Stagnant lives.
South London: Residential streets, factories, warehouses.
City of London: Big business, seat of government, tourism, restaurants, crowds, money.
River Thames: Polluted, dark, shipping.
Sewers: Labyrinth, maze-like, stone tunnels, foul waters, sewer people, lost things.

So, any ideas or words?

Ah so thats you on the NWOD list :) I replied there with this:

Yep, working on this too! :) More slowley though. My stories are going to be
set around London ("The London Chronicles") too.

I wanna make the Prince a Daeva possibly from Ordo Dracul. Kensington based
and probably 400 years old. Prince John sounded like a good name.

I was in the stages of describing a few towns within each of N,E,S,W london
before things got busy.

I'd love the werewolf book to come out as I have an idea for the great parks
to be urban bases for weres. The vamps darn't enter them basically.

I also took the idea of VII being in some way linked to werewolves. The
piece of skin in Underworld with the VII on it sparked off that idea when
someone on the net pointed it out.

As a lifelong resident of South (Sarf) London, I'm not sure there are that many factories. There are, however, a lot of parks and commons full of city-dwelling Garou.

Cheers

So we're on the same wavelength then, at least with regard to city dwelling weres in the great many parks of London. I may just post up what I have so far in my forums on Gamingden http://denma.hostnuke.net/~admin302 I was not sure whether to make my WOD London more like a modern victorian London. I am struggling a little to intertwine Victorian ideas on a modern backdrop and make it believeable - Willing suspension of disbelief an' all that.

Maybe if people want to post ideas they can add to the material over there? Vampire topics tend to slide off page 1 faster than a seal covered in butter going down a skislope!

Edit: I've made a forum on Gamingden and have posted up what little I have been able to type up so far on there. Its not much but its a start.

Outside of East & West London, I don't know much else to be honest, so I'm glad you can point me in the right direction. Would you say North London is the same?

I'd say North London has a lot of big commercial sites and a fair amount of production sites dotted around the North Circular; Wembley, Colindale, Harrow, The A5 (Edgeware Road) etc...
