d10s, still skill based
Combat is structured almost exactly same though and the new system has Merits (feats?), a Defense score (AC?), and a move and standard action in a turn (round?) of combat.
Very similar. The biggest difference is the d10 and the rolling of several to get successes. The number of success you get could be compared to a d20 roll in the d20 system. You need to get a certain number of successes to do something and unfavorable circumstances (Defense in combat) subtracts from your successes. This is pretty much how the Storyteller system always worked, but characters never had a Defense score.
Different dice, but the core concept is still the same.
