Vanor beats Shard

ooc: Yes you go first next time, or at least you can go first...

in this fight, I don't think there's anything you could do that chi strike would effect. Bribe the judges won't be stopped by Chi Strike, and your other powers are 'automatic' so chi strike doesn't effect them either.

(ugh...its rounds like this that make judging hard)

The judge deliberates for quite some time, having the scene repeat in his head several times. Until finally...

2 points and match to Vanor!

That is..unless Shard wishes to change my decision. *wink*

Nodding towards the crowd, Shard signals an associate of hers. Coming up behind the judges, the associate hands over the customary 2 Yen to change the judges decision.

The judge seeing 2 yen dropped into his hand pauses for a moment then orders the flags reset to where they were.
*cough* "There were some problems with that last round" *cough* "We're just going to toss it out. Shard, you're first this round"

Turning Vanor’s aggression against him, Shard fights to hold back the darkness of defeat. Using her gentle but powerful Rose Petal style, Shard attacks Vanor’s legs with a series of shattering strikes!

Grimacing, Shard mutters to herself, “One of these days I’m going to learn to keep my big mouth shut!”

The rose petal shatters the pillars; negates the aggression of the dark sunbeam! *yen*

Vanor howls in frustration at victory being taken from his grasp by Shards money, he leaps forward and strikes hard and fast. Clawing at her legs, and waving away her attack.

The claw demolishes the foothills; waves away the onslaught of the lily!

Fists of Fury!

The snake viciously mangles the desert; dodges the foray of the chi!

Darkwolf watches as Vanor demolishes Shard then follows up by mangling him. *wince* An amused spectator, seeing the match is over, tosses a yen to Vanor for the beauty of the combo.

2 points to Vanor
Match to Vanor!

Vanor, you have honored yourself and your dojo. Your record is now 6-2. You may also collect yen from Shard should he choose not to drop. You are now a Green Belt 1

Shard, it was a hard fought fight. Vanor is of a higher tier so the loss was not unexpected. Your record is now 2-5 and you may pay Vanor 2 yen to not drop to Copper Sash 0.

Vanor bows to the judge and to Shard

Well fought, it seems that honor has beaten coin this time. Perhaps once you have gained a bit more power we will fight again.

"Fight you again after I have gained more power? You can bet on it!" Tossing Vanor the 2 Yen she had bet on winning the match, Shard stalks off down the road.

OOC: I thought the payment to keep from dropping was only at each TIER of the Yen Path. Is it really possible to do that for each RANK? The rules don't spell it out very clearly, but it is in reference to the Yen Path's buffer ranks. For all other Paths, there are only buffer ranks when you are talking about dropping a Tier and I thought this was the case here. Am I wrong? If I'm wrong, then I pay Vanor as above and keep Copper Sash 1 rank. If I'm right, then let me know so I can add back the 2 Yen and drop a rank instead.
