Just out of cuiriousity- where do you go for your books and stuff? net or Albany? Quarterstaff Games even?

Thanks to the perma-coupons for 30% off at Waldens/Borders, I usually get my WotC stuff at the mall in Rut-vegas...otherwise I gotta shop Online. When I do get to Burlington (or Mass), I hit whatever game shops I can...big fan of supporting FLGS's :)

I'm betting we've met... you have a group down Arlington, right? I used to be on the LG Bissel Triad...

So you know Eric and Patty? They just had their first kiddo. Alexander.

There is a new shop in Bennington but I question how long it will exist. He opened it up to be a video game store then expanded into Hero Clix and finally DnD as the ARRGH group pressured him. He has all of about ten books, the Core and Eberron mainly.

Concord, NH. I went to Bennington College from 90-95. There was a comic/gaming store in Bennington the first few years, but by 94 I was driving to Albany or Keene.

Not anymore my good Mega. I used to live where Light Phoenix now does - in Syracuse, NY. Now I am waayyyy off in northern Cali. :)

I still miss New England though.... And this time of year worse than any other. :(

The fall is a most excellent time to run CoC games. Afterall- most of Lovecraft and King's stuff was inspired by the people, legends and general aura of New England.

Very, very true. I read a biography of him some time back (something ungodly huge like 800 pages ... too much time on my hands ... if I remember right I was in bed with the flu or something and a friend of mine got it for me from a college inter-library loan I think...) and in the biography it said that he grew up and lived around Connecticut and environs. The history and ... err ... ambience definitely contributed to the setting in his books.

Of course he was a bit of a sick puppy too ... and that "helped" with the feel. ;)

King lives in Bangor, Maine (a beautiful city, by the way) ... but I have never liked his books and never felt any interest to read more about him personally either.

Autumn is without doubt my absolute FAVORITE time of year. I miss New England the worst during this season. As you know all too well my good Mega, Autumn is glorious in New England. Good time for rp'ing too, of course. :D

About 4 or so years ago (Chainmail was still in production) I went to a game / train hobbiest store in Keene. I don't recall the name or any helpful instructions.

These days I do 95% of my miniatures from the net and about 75% of my books through either Northshire Bookstore or Rutland's Waldens.

About once per 18 months I go to Burlington (and drop waaaaaay too much between Quarterstaff Games and Earth prime comics) and I now know how to get to a store in Albany. That store gives limited discounts so I'm not sure how often I'll go there. I promised my son I would take him however. It will be an overwhelming treat for him I'm sure.
