Versus

Actually, drnuncheon, could you post a comment here saying if the version you watch does in fact include a shot looking through a hole that's just punched in the head of a bad guy?
Will do. It'll have to wait until we're done with Sharpe's Company, Luther, and the first disc of Firefly.

Hmm. I should start a thread about people's Netflix queues.

Cause I'm up for buying the "Director's Cut" DVD if it's the version I have on VHS, so a little feedback there would be great. Thanks!

Hmm Amazon has three versions listed regular, director's, and special. They're not too good at detailing the differences though.

Welverin, you live on the same block of Amazon that I do. If ANYBODY's got info as to which version is which, I'll take it. I'm sure there's a discussion group somewhere full of people who know this stuff, but I am not sufficiently desperate to go to those lengths just yet.

I thought it kinda dragged on too long. Had some female company for the movie who couldn't stand the all-out violence, but I thought it was a fun movie.

Excellent, don't know it, and more than excellent.

I agree with Krug that it went on a little long, but what the heck - I still loved it. One of the nice things about living in Boston is that there's a lot of funky theaters. One in particular, a theater in Cambridge that shows unusual movies, has had it a couple of times.

I felt it was supposed to go on too long. I mean, if it's not over the top, then, well, it's not over the top, is it? Especially that last swordfight -- that's got to be one of the longest. most pose-filled fights of all time.

Just how I like 'em.

I may need to move to Boston.

It's rather disappointing because they have good detail on some things then you have something like this and there's nothing.

I've been considering picking up the DC, because of comments here, but now I'm not sure what to do because of the SE ($30 is too much for something I haven't seen yet).

Hmm, Rotten Tomatoes helps a little. This link is for the SE, you can swtich to the other two versions, but they have the same feature list.

Yeah, I wish it had running times for each version. All versions are described as "unrated" -- even the one described as "R-rated" which isn't super-helpful. I expect the DC is the version I have, but I would worry that they created the SE on top of the R-rated cut.

I'm confident that it's not, enough that I'd risk buying it. I'm just not confident enough I'd like the movie for it to be worth buying at all.

Just watched this movie last night, based on what I'd heard in this thread. Absolutely loved it. (What can I say- I'm a zombie fanatic). It was pretty awesome. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, guys!
