Very odd experience - War of the Worlds

I have it on vinyl and CD :) and I still listen to it regularly.
It was very popular at MTU when I was going to school there.

I was under the impression that an animated version that follows Jeff Wayne's musical version was being made, but I don't remember where I heard that.

Are you guys talking about the one that was music by the Moody Blues guys and narrated by Richard Burton? I won that album from a radio contest. I think I still have it! :D

You mean, a War of the Worlds On Ice, like Barney on Ice... Lion King on Ice... ? That would be disturbing... a tripod on skates.
Remember when Lupin was teaching Ron Weasley how to use the Ridikulus charm on the Bogart in Defense of the Dark Arts? (In the movie, that is?) His greatest fear was the giant spider and the charm put roller skates on it. Then it slipped and fell over.

Now I've got the image of the tripods on roller skates looking just like that. :D

That is so true the Buffy musical episode was easily one of the best things I've ever seen tv. I mean c'mon it had sining vampires and Michelle Trachtenberg you can't get much better than that.

I own this on vinyl as well. Haven't listened to it in years, but when I was in college (shortly after it came out), we would play it every year on Halloween night at the record store where I worked.

And yes, they are making an animated version of this.

Now I'm stuck with this image in my mind of Broadway stars singing the War of the Worlds. Shudder. Thanks, guy. :p
You ain't seen nothing yet. Check out the soundtrack for the "A Shoggoth on the Roof" musical.
