Very Quick! Very Urgent! Suggest new name for EN World Player's Journal

Well, I went with something simple: "EN World Gamer".

Thinking of putting a d20 mini-game in each issue. Especially now that Poly has died. :)

Good idea on the mini-games, Morrus. I suggest that you base them on D&D, not D20M. I really liked the mini-games from dungeon/Polyhedron that were based on D&D, and I have purchased all the FFG Horizon mini-games for the same reason. The EN World Players Journal was not useful to me, so I have not subscribed past issue 4. I would reconsider that decision if D&D-based mini-games were included.

Well, we're pretty much "doing a Paizo" and redesigning the concept of the mag. While it will primarily focus on D&D, we're going to be slyly insterting ourselves into the now-vacant Poly market to an extent. Any thoughts on how much we should do so are welcomed.

I'm with Ranger Reg on this one. Let Dragon and Dungeon handle D&D "proper"... You guys can handle d20.

d20 obviously includes D&D so if you have a few articles here that relate to D&D it won't be a big deal, but I don't think you should make it your focus.

Unless you have additional contractual obligations to support D&D beyond the d20 System Trademark License, don't go above and beyond. Just do d20 fantasy and other genres.

how about mini-campaigns?

An idea for the new EN World Gamer could be the idea of mini-campaigns. It seems, from my reading of other threads, that there is plenty of competition left in the market of published adventures (Dungeon, et al.) and mini-games (Valent Games & FFG Horizons). The niche that I see is for a product combining the best of those 2 lines in a mini-campaign. It really wouldn't matter what platform you choose. I personally prefer D&D, but some may prefer D20M or some other d20 game. The key would be to provide a few new rules options AND a few adventures. The scope of it could be as few as, say, 3 modules or as vast as something like the Shackled City Adventure Path. With a magazine, the camapign could be gradually fleshed-out in a serial fashion. Maybe the characters start in a town/village and solve a small problem there. Of course, that leads to a larger problem in the county/countryside/country. Soon, they are saving the capital/kingdom/world or something else heroic. As long as it is fun and easy to start and maintain, I think people would buy it and play it.
