I don't remember who suggested that it would, but I disagreed, but it turns out they were right. I'm man enough to admit I was wrong.

Its been confirmed in the lastest lore you should know segment on the D&D podcast, where its mentioned their is a Yuan-Ti lair map in VGTM.

Yeah, I think I recall that conversation, no biggie. Also, the recent Polygon preview pages start talking about the Mindflayer colony dungeon, and mention a "Xanathar Guild" section for Beholders.

Also, per the Roll20 Volos digital version announcement, there will be 7 such lair maps in the book that they have digitized for the VTT: we can be relatively certain this means mini-dungeons for:

-Beholders
-Giants
-Gnolls
-Kobolds
-Mindflayers
-Orcs
-Yuan-Ti

Honestly, I feel like this is wasted space that would have been far better used for MOAR MONSTERS.

Why is getting 7 mini-modules a waste of space? Lots of folks have been asking for smaller adventures they can plug and play, based on the Polygon preview this seems to be perfect for that.

Likewise, maps are one of the harder thing to do in an adventure (in my experience). Having some maps to either rip directly or even just use as a reference to design other lairs of that creature is really useful.

Well lots of folks think its a waste of space since they want monsters instead of maps, and its coupled with the fact it will have tons of fluff/lore taking up space as well. So to them, its wasted...

Honestly, I feel like Volo's Guide to Monsters is a waste of valuable development time and resources, we have enough monsters. What we need is more player options.

You see what I did there?
