First Post
OK, Our group is returning to RPGs after a long break. We are thinking of doing Victorian style game.

What source books or settings are there out there?

Any help would be nice.

The obvious one that leaps to mind is Victorian Age Vampire... I could swear there were some others but I can't think of any names at the moment.

Victorian Age RPG's

If you can find a copy, I strongly recommend "Space 1889." It contains a plethora of background information regarding politics, equipment and the like.

If I might ask, is this campaign at all influenced by "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?"

GURPS Steampunk and Steamtech [even if you don't like GURPS].

Castle Falkenstein.

Ravenloft: Masque of the Red Death.

GURPS Atlantis has a steampunk version of the Lost City.

I've done Victorian pulp adventure with d20 Modern.

Forgotten Futures.

Forbidden Kingdoms covers the steam age.

Nate, I did not know they made a "Space 1889" d20. Who published it?

As for "TLoEG" that was not the influance. Some of us had played a game called Gaslight. It is a miniature tabletop game. We thought it might be fun to try RPGing in the same type of background.

I realized I was not clear in my request.

We are looking for a d20 sourcebook / setting.

We are all working family people and as such wanted to avoid having to do a lot of conversion work. We only have so much time to dedicate a week and we want to spend that time playing :-)

Thanks for the help so far.

Despite the plethora of Victorian/Edwardian-era rpgs, I do not believe there are any published D20 versions.

If I remember correctly, however, there is a version of Ravenloft (at least in 2nd ed AD&D) as a fan-written posting.

Personally, I suggest checking out Castle Falkenstein -- it isn't D20, but it is magnificent!

Hi all!

I think there was a free d20 conversion pdf of the Ravenloft: Masque of the Red Death setting used in the RPGA's Living Death campaign. It's a horror game set in the 1890s, but it does a passable job of covering the late Victorian world. Try to hunt it down at the RPGA section of the WotC site, or Google it.

Also, you may want to check out Deadlands d20 or Sidewinder for the mechanics. Although they are "Westerns," they do cover a similar time period. However, you'll need to provide the setting if you take it away from the West.

Hope that helps. :)

I'm not sure if Call of Cthulhu d20 covers the gaslight era, but it'd be worth a look. I doubt if it will have much as far as Victorian source material goes though. For that, I'd recommend going to the Forgotten Futures site and downloading as much of the freebie stuff as you think you need. I've got a couple of the FF CD's and they're packed with background info and scenario ideas as well as the FF worldbooks. Not d20, but there're plenty of ideas to borrow.
