Video game character contest!

Anubis

First Post
Over at GameFAQs, Nintendo kiddy fanboy noobs have cheated and usruped a victory for Mario over Crono. We're down to the finals, and I and others want mature characters to win. The only ones left are, sadly, Cloud and Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII).

http://www.gamefaqs.com/

Go there! Each day there is a new poll to decide the winner of the current contest. The targets are Mario and Link. I encourage everybody from EN World to go there, and for RPGs and gamers everywhere, stack the votes for Cloud and Sephiroth to get them two to the finals!

Show thos retarded Nintendo kiddy fanboy noobs where to stick it!

Good.

If you actually feel this way you're probably not as mature as you think.

No, and what do Cloud and Sephiroth have to do with RPG's?

Well that clinches it.

I would have to agree Welverin pretty much summed up my thoughts better than I could. :)

Wow, I'm usually thinking that of other people. Nice to be on the other side for once.

I never understood the fascination kids have/had with Sephiroth. It must've been the lithe, brooding, big weapon wielding, dark cloth wearing, long cape flowing, watch-me-walk-through-the-fiery-destruction-I've-just-unleashed schtick he had going on that seems to permeate through a lot of anime.

I only played through about 60% of FF7, but I never thought much of ol' Seph as a villain. Now Kefka... there was a good FF villain.

Anyway, thumbs up to Mario. After all these years, he's still money.

I've noticed that teenage gamers tend to really like brooding, dark, angsty characters. Anime fans do as well, since anime is full of such characters.

Agreed. That pudgy Italian plumber has to be one of the greatest video game icons ever. :D

Sorry, I'm 22. The kids are the ones who vote for Mario and Link. Also, how dense are you to ask what Cloud and Sephiroth have to do with RPGs? They were the main characters in one of the most popular RPGs of all time! (I didn't like that game, but I did like Sephiroth, and Cloud is better than any of the Nintendo Franchises.)

We're trying to get mature characters to win this thing over the one-dimensional undeveloped kiddy characters.

Actually, quite the opposite. The kids aren't exactly as exposed to Mario and the like as you may thing. I was, but that's because I'm almost 17, now. Besides, who doesn't love that pudgy little Italian plumber? I wish it was him fixing my toilet. I also know a lot of people older than me who loved Mario. And Luigi. And Link. And Samus. And all the other so-called "franchises."

I liked FFVII, and it was a popular RPG, but I think their is something still to say about the other FF games (i.e. FF3/6 - it's a classic.)

Uh, I disagree with this one. Although I liked the game, I still found some things weird with that game.

Actually, they're two-dimensional. They go forward and backward as well as up and down :D.

And what are you exactly implying by "mature" characters?
