Villian Redemption

VERY good John. Yes, ive always done the 12 episode 'mid season'. That way, if the PCs dont like the first story arc and want to try something different, we can start a new.

They liked it and we continue :D

And yes, each character is going to need redemption of some sort this 22 episode story arc.

I think ill let her keep her blighter level and in fact maybe take a couple more. Not because she's evil, but because its all she knows.

Then ill have them find a way to cure her (she can become a druid again and still keep the Blighter powers and make will rolls when faced with triggered items (ala Dark WIllow)).

Even when she is cured, they will have to face Vaath's army. Which leads me to the follwoing question ...

Anyone have the MM II? If so, i need some help scaling down a monster. namely the Famine Spirit. Can anyone help with that?

Sounds good. I try something similiar but usually keep it to fewer "episodes" which I'll assume are gaming sessions. I'll usually know by about 4-5 sessions in whether it will be worth continuing.

That could make for some very interesting situations depending on what is in your world and how far along others are in their redemption cycles.

As for your MMII question: What did you want to know about the slobesque Famine Spirits. :)

I can tell you straight off that these things just look icky. Big ol' fat CR 19, jaw-unhinge-in' critter. Says hear that one of these guys could consume the entire contents of a Morkenkainen's magnificent mansion (CL 14) in 5 hours and still be hungry for more.. Also mentions something about eating 100 humans a day...

Aha...how about this...

Since she cannot touch food herself, she cannot feed herself and hence is permanently starving.

However, the PCs could, presumably, feed her by spoon or whatever.

As she gets less hungry, so she turns away from Vaath and is gradually restored to normal- but whenever she is hungry, she slowly reverts to her original evil version. When she is fed, she is good.

So the PCs have to develop a symbiotic relationship with her- as long as they continue to treat her well and feed her, she is all well and good. If they neglect her or she leaves them, she reverts to her original evil form.

Another nice added twist would be if only the PC who is falling in love with her (Sandor) could feed her...the symbiosis becomes not just party-My'ria, but Sandor-My'ria, which makes things a whole lot more interesting.

Just a thought, but what if her Blighter levels (and that curse) makes her able to take out Vaath's Avatar (the Famine Spirit)? I don't have the MM2, so I don't know what it looks like, but I think it would be cool to have a powerful monster that the PCs have to come up with some other strategy for destroying rather than face-to-slobbering psuedopod combat.

If your Blighter sacrificed herself to kill the Famine Spirit, that would be pretty cool. Then maybe you could have her spirit lurk around at the site of combat as some kind of nature spirit.

All good ideas. But they cant feed her. Think King Midas. he couldnt eat or drink because even his tongue turned things to gold. Even her tongue kills all things living.

What i was wanting to know about the Famine Spirit is, is there a way to scale it down?

When I get home from work tonight, I'll bust out the 'ol MMII and give you a breakdown. That is unless someone gets to it first. :)

Considering the amount of powers it has with that CR 24, I would assume there is a way to make a less powerful version of it. Do you have Savage Species, as that could help?
