Vin Diesel makes more references to Fantasy/D&D

At the end of 2001, Empire magazine (the largest selling film mag in the UK) ran a couple of articles of note. One was about D&D and how geeky gamers are and the other was about how cool Vin Diesel is. Well, you can't have it both ways. Somebody should tell the twits at Empire that.

It is nice that someone that is "making it big" is promoting the game and does not fear speaking about it, while so many others hide in the closet.

Vin is a smart man, just look at his resume, and I just wonder how much he is playing to the fanboys. Scifi and fantasy are big money makers and you can have a good career and build a name for yourself from it.

Either way, it just goes to show you hyper intellecutal and socially awkward youths aren't the only D&D fans around.

Yay for showing them that you can be an action star, and still enjoy beatin' up hobogobos on the weekends.

The big mystery, of course, is why anybody would be surprised at an actor or actress being into role-playing games.

As to the whole "geek chique" thing, well, as I recall when I went to school pretty much all of the drama kids were considered geeks, despite the fact that everyone thought movie stars were cool.

We're not surprised about an actor being fond of Role-playing games; We're surprised about an actor ADMITTING to being fond of RPG's. :D

Well I'm an actor, and if I ever make it big I'm going to talk about D&D. Not that anyone'll listen to me, but you know...

I think "The geek shall inherit the earth" is already scarily true. Think of Bill Gates, for example. :D
