Sorry all three Lord of the Rings movies are cast and done.

B.A: Okay, I've gone ahead and pre-rolled some characters for our next campaign. Here you go guys.

Brian: Sweet! I'm a powerful wizard with magical abilities beyond your wildest imagination. And..a sword? Hoody-hoo!

Sara: I'm a young hobbit struggling with the temptations of evil as I carry a powerful artifact towards its eventual destruction. This will be a wonderful roleplaying challenge.

Dave: My guy is really a king, see, but he doesn't like to talk aboout it because he's like an enigma. So now he just wanders the wilds, kicking major ass with his sword-that-was-broken +12.

Bob: A GARDENER?? I'M A FRICKING GARDENER???

Only an actor...

...could spew stuff like this with a straight face. :)

But with the Riddick character, the reason why I'm doing Chronicles of Riddick next is because I wanted to try to find a way to create a modern day mythology in a trilogy form, not unlike Lord of the Rings, but something more futuristic and more contemporary.

Ah, yes. The next great name in the annals of fantasy fiction: Vin Diesel. Fifty years from now, students in schools all over the world will be studying his ground-breaking Riddick character in literature classes.

But I needed to go back to David Twohy, because he was the one that was most willing to really think outside of the box, and come up with the idea of creating a trilogy out of a character in a film that's really kind of a cult film. It is extremely daring, as you can imagine.

Ooh, how daring! No one has ever before spun out sequels to marginally-successful movies before. Oh wait. That's not true. Everyone spins out sequels nowadays. Just keep your eye for this summer's releases. Every preview I've seen so far is either a sequel, a prequel, or a remake.

But David had the belief in the concept, the belief that this could be a modern-day mythology, and was able to run with it. And I think David brings the Star Trek element, and I bring the Dungeons & Dragons element. So we're covered.

Aha! At last, we now know the two components necessary to create a modern-day mythology: Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons!

:D

It's all about the new Xtreme xXx, fast and furious style of D&D. ESPN X Games here we come, you can't just role the dice anymore, you have to nail a 360 flatop grind with the dice. D&D is not just a game it's a way of life, get EXTREME baby!! Everyone out of their comfy chairs, it's time to game like your in a Mountain Dew commercial, Vin Diesel is showing us the way.

We're not surprised about an actor being fond of Role-playing games; We're surprised about an actor ADMITTING to being fond of RPG's. :D

No, no, you misunderstand. It's not us I'm talking about being surprised. It's the people, whoever they are, that the actor wouldn't want to admit it to. Since any sensible person should take the news with a shrug. But of course we all know what the population density of sensible people is.

not to be rude, but who cares if vin desiel plays D&D?

heaps of people play, heaps don't... whatever.

But Vin Diesel is a huge Mega-Star, he's been in movies and stuff, he's got pull in the real world and can make things happen, when a big time mover and shaker like Vin Diesel speaks people listen.........................................

Ok so it only matters because he is considered one of the "cool" people, If the guy who played Screech on Saved by the Bell mentioned that he played D&D nobody would notice.

Whatever! I don't get people like you. This could change the world. First Vinny D as I like to call him, then hundreds of thousands of hot chicks playing in skimpy bathing suits. I think you need to get you vision checked. Whatever indeed!
