Vindictive Cats or "I'm buying 3.5"

I got into an argument with my wife. No big deal, things like this happen occasionally. The problem is that my wife's cats take this kind of thing personally.

They just peed all over my monster manual and DM's guide. I'm never going to get the stink out....

I just know they are being vindictive. The last time something like this happened (about 8 years ago) they didn't target my books, they targeted my shoes. Same reason also...

Oh well, its look like I have another reason to buy the 3.5 edition when it comes out.

Ysgarran.

edit:
I never had a problem with cats in the past. I think that they never got over the fact that I invaded their territory when I moved into my wifes house.

Any suggestions about trying to clean the books? Vinegar?

So, if you were nice with your wife, you would not have traumatized your cats, and your books would be in good shape.

Morality: Be kind with girls.

Use many spices and fish oil. Take unwilling feline and place in large pot. Put said spices and fish oil into pot with cat. Seal pot and bury for 6 months.

Ta da. Kim Chi Cat.

Taren Nighteyes

P.S. Skinning the cat is recommended - Hairballs.

cats don't pee where they eat or sleep.

get some catnip and sprinkle just a very little bit on the ends of your books, shoes, etc, and the cats will love you for being such a great DM.

Or take the cats for a wok.

I have no clue how you would go about getting cat pee out of a book. However I do have a suggestion with what you might do with the books now that they have been tainted. If you have any rules lawyer problems bad all books at the table except the DM copies and the player reference copies. Make your now most vile core books the reference copies. And since you planning on getting 3.5 anyway, you may as well see if you can induce the cats to get the PHB as well so that you'll have a full set for any players that annoy you to thumb through.

Based on my experiences trying to clean cat piss out of matresses, I'd say don't bother. I used a little vinegar, a lot of water and a hair dryer -- and even then, they were never quite the same.

Yuck. :(
