Further ahead of schedule. Looks like I will have this volume out by the 17th. I know, I know, I originally said the 16th in the Vol 1 PDF and then the 24th in the banner, but I got swamped. Luckly cleared it away and been bookin on this.

Thanks again to all the comments! Your voices have been heard!
I am putting in a special common treasures page, and a full potion page at the buyers request. This will of course take the volume beyond the original 70 that were slated. It will be more like 80 images. Any other suggestions of what you would like to see are very welcomed, and will be put out in volume 3.

Thanks again all

V Shane

I'll make the art, you make the magic!

Hmm much as I like cheap products, at $4.00 your product (Vol 1) is now too cheap to order at www.rpgnow.com as they have a $4.95 minimum order limit.

Amazing you can now lose business by being too cheap. I don't want anything else at the moment so I'd rather pay an extra dollar for the thing I want than another $5 for something I don't.

Please increase your prices... (I can't believe I'm said that.)

Well thanks!

Cheap huh? heh, well the Arcane Vol1 is on sale limited time only., kind of like an intro offer, when vol 2 is out, after a week, it will be back to normal price. Good suggestion Storminator.

Glad your anxious to get it Bagpuss

Hi DPGTony,
Thank you, much appreciated. As far as going to 3D, I did wrestle with a number of presentable formats for this product experimenting with a few 2D/3D perspectives. I often found that the 3D look had a feeling of alienating one from the feel of traditional game play rather than enhancing it. I think for the most part that?s because we associate modern mecha and technology with the 3D format, to me, it just doesn't have the right "archaic" feel to it. From day one, all RPG are illustrated, so that?s what we associate with, the line. A fullness and life to it that some 3D finds hard to gather in its vertexes and nurbs. Also the advantage of the illustration in B/W (without color textures) is to help the player and GM interact with the product on a very basic level we all enjoy.... coloring. I doubt if I'll produce a solid 3D textured colored artifacts, just isn't my style at this time. A little drawn out, but I hope it answers your question!

However I do have plans for creating usable art paintings that are not quite associated with Magic Items, soon to come.

And another one to show the versatility; magical horse armor for the travel types....

Great stuff Shane. I think the products are wonderful. I was wondering if it would be possible to make the sizes the same for all the products. Was there a reason this was not done? By the way, i would shell out a good amount of dough for "The illustrated book of NPCs".

Waylander, thank you!

As far as NPCs, I am doing color ones, about 4 per AOA Vol 2 and up. As far as a whole book, whew, that would take a while and would be expensive, too much so probably for most. So I am doing a little here and there. As a matter of fact, the next "Echoes of the Wyrd" will feature 2 free NPC tabletops from me in their February issue on GameWyrd's site.

Not sure what you mean:confused:
Do you mean page count, item count, or item card sizes?

Page count varies because of the size of the cards and the number of each card to a page.

Item count changes, because I can do that ;) someone mentions something they need before final production, and I throw it in! This accessory is about the need of the Players and the GM, I will provide what I can to let people know they do have a voice, and can have some input about the product they want to invest in.

Item card sizes are based on the geometrical space that an actual item needs.
*Small magic treasure doesn't require a huge index card, because they have little detail and are inherently simple in design.
*Weapons are mostly box shaped, or fit comfortably into a box shape given playing with a little perspective to make it interesting.
*Clothing varies. Things like Robes and cloaks are longer and need more height than width, if I used an index size for those, to get the full cloak in would waste a great deal of space on the left and right......so I am attempting to create them aesthetically pleasing as well. And the long ones (shown below) can be used as book markers :p

Thanks again and hope you continue to use Artifacts of the Arcane
