Vital Aim Ability

Dragon Magazine had an article on fighter variants. One of the Targeteers abilities was called Vital Aim and allow you to replace your Str mod to damage with your Dex mod on ranged attacks. What kind of bow would you need to use this ability? Any bow, mighty bow, another special bow?

the way i read the ability, i think the intent was to only allow your Dex mod to damage with a ranged weapon that normally gets extra damage from a high strength mod.

so i think you would need a mighty bow... though, it gets weird with the rule about taking a penalty to attack with a mighty bow you dont have the Strength for....

this is just my opinion, but i think its necessary to preserve some balance. i could see a lot of people get upset about adding Dex mod to damage with ranged weapons. have you ever seen what happens to a proposed monk feat that adds Wis mod to damage around here? :)
