Voting Booth Public Beta Test

I am now conducting a public beta test of the voting booth before it is actually used to decide on the real nominees. Come, put her through her paces.

I will take 200 votes, then close the booth. I will then do a hand count of the ballots to confirm that the computer is shooting out correct results.

Have fun - and any suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Wow. I was able to:

* vote for the same thing in all 4 ballots in a given category
* leave various ballots blank and only vote in the 2nd / 3rd / 4th ballots

Are these bugs, or features?

Votes for the same product on the multiple ballots in the same category are no more effective than 1 single vote. Only one ballot per person is counted in any single round, and if your candidate is dropped then all four of your ballots will be dropped together.

You are not required to vote on all ballots, and you don't have to vote on a category if you don't want.

So each of these are features.

I think I broke your voting thing. Sorry. Either that or the server went nutty at the same moment I submitted.

I had duplicates and blanks.

The system will allow you to leave fields blank - and indeed you are expected to. If you don't like a product - don't vote for it. It's that simple.

If you don't like anything in a category, leave the whole category blank.

While you can submit duplicates, the computer is going to ignore them.

Another thought -- some example votes would help immensely. e.g., what is the best way for me to vote if I really really like one product and want it to win? what if I really hate one product and want it to lose? what if I'm torn between two or three products? etc.

Worked OK for me.

I think the server burped for a few minutes, I was unable to post to another thread a short time ago, server kept timing out.

I would like to see a few of those choices on the real ballot.
