Does sonic resistance make someone immune to the Vrock's stunning screech?

Stunning Screech (Su): Once per hour a vrock can emit a piercing screech. Every creature within a 30-foot radius must succeed at a Fortitude save (DC 17) or be stunned for 1 round.

By "sonic resistance", do you mean resistant to sonic hit point damage?

If by "sonic resistance" you mean the silence spell or a Bard's Countersong, then yes and maybe respectively (depends on the Perform check of course).

If you mean Energy Resistance (Sonic), then no.

Yes, I meant the 2nd level resist energy spell.

Then no.

The reason is that the Vrock's ability does not cause sonic hp damage, which is what the spell protects against, but a sonic effect that does not deal hp damage.
