like everyone else in the good ole USofA i've been inundated with all the trailers, promo, and various forms of advertising for "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days." now before you go freaking out ... take a breath and read on...
i thought the movie looked cute but that it was going to be the same repetitive Romantic Comedy (TM) formula that has been gracing the silver screen for the last 15-odd years. so why'd i go see it? well, i really wanted to go to the movies, and it was either that or Shanghai Knights, and i just don't like Owen Wilson. anyway, for the most part i was spot on with my premature estimate. it was mostly cute, mildly amusing and occasionally funny.
so, why, do you ask, that i say that EVERY woman should see this? well i'm glad you asked! this movie despite all of the aforementioned flaws, is a genius masterpiece of insidious subconscious manipulation. it gets across the points that all men have been trying (more than likely unsuccessfully) to say for decades.
somehow this masterpiece of cinema manages to show women all of the insane, clingy, needy, obsessive, overly emotional crazy-ass things that they do to all those poor unsuspecting, defenseless men. ... ok ok so i'm give to a touch of exaggeration and melodrama. sue me

see, after the movie, on the subway ride back home, after a moment or three of silence, my girlfriend looks over and me and sheepishly offers up her newest realisation: that she falls into at least 2 or 3 of those categories. that she is even embarrassed that she fits in ANY of them. and then she apologises for being in even ONE of them. it was a beautiful moment. (one that i'm sure will last for at least a few hours
)
so, go ahead. take your significant other, your sister, your cousins any female that you know! do it for yourself. do it for your friends. do it for men the world over! we'll all thank you for it ... aww who am i kidding? no we won't. but you should still do it anyway!
