Wahooooooooooooo! The Legends Are Back!

Nostalgia for what? At best it harkens back to OoT and MM, and they aren't that old.

This style really doesn't suit the feel of the Zelda series the way the one for WW does.
*jaw drops*

you're kidding right?

OOT and MM were the natrual progression of Zelda that we all fell in love with. Yes Nostalgia. How old are those games now? nearly 8 years?

Realistic Zelda is what the majority of the fans want.

No, I'm not.

OoT Nov 1998, and MM Oct 2000. That's the last generation of systems and not that old.

For comparison tLoZ was released in July 1987, and Zelda 2 in Sept 1988.

Realistic Zelda is what the majority of the fans want.

Doesn't make it right, or or fit with the series as a whole, which has always been a bit cartoony. The so called realistic look is out of line with the series as a whole.

Zelda and StarFox in general.

I take it you're refering to SNES era? That I could see being in nostalgia territory.

Not entirely. Whenever there is a new Zelda game, I get nostalgic, but the way this new one looks is taking it into a new realm, and I like that. None of the Zelda games have disappointed me, and I always eagerly await each new game. Though I was worried about the cel-shaded graphics of WW. I just always get excited when a game franchise I have played since I was a kid gets more realistic. I can understand being disappointed with the new look though.

I didn't much like how Link looked at first, but I was never really worried.

I'd rather they stayed true to what they were originally, it made sense for Metal Gear to become more realistic, but Zelda is a different sort of game and I don't believe it suited by going in this direction.

I can understand being disappointed with the new look though.

Ultimately I don't like what it signals, I don't think the feel of the games would be well represented by this look.

I want to say that they have a bit of a fairy tale feel to them, not sure how accurate that is, and I'd hate to see that grow just because a bunch of people fear being labeled immature because of how it looks.

Of course I'm a Zelda whore and will get it regardless (I have every one so far), and will withhold judgment until I play it. For now I'm wary, just as I am with Thief 3, a third-person view?

I, too, will miss the cel-shaded look. It was gorgeous and fit the series nicely. I hope they go back to it in the future at least once... however, I do think the new game looks amazing, and I have faith they'll do the series justice with this approach, as well.

Whether or not the look of the new Zelda game fits the series (which I can't discuss really, as OoT was my first Zelda game), you have to agree that the graphics look hot. Like seriously, that's some beautiful stuff coming out of a little GameCube.

I'm also excited about Four Swords, but I'd be more excited if I actually knew people with GBA's.

However, the Star Fox game does sadden me. I really wish it'd go back to the straight up pilot game. But oh well.

Am I the only one that would pay for a totally new Zelda based in the original NES engine? Mayhaps with the graphics and sounds spiffed up a little bit..and I mean a _little_ bit...

With the storage capabilities today, you could create a Zelda with a bajillion levels / worlds / nuances...

I have a feeling that I am alone on this...

We basically already had that. It was called Link to the Past. ;)
