I've been thinking up a class based on the "Wanderer" in SotC ever since I came up with my Cling mechanic. Here's a link to that: http://www.enworld.org/forum/4e-fan-creations-house-rules/243568-new-combat-action-cling.html
A quick aside: I tried to include both grabbing and clinging so the class could be effective against any number of targets (a little Brutal Fencer-ish, I suppose; http://www.enworld.org/forum/4e-fan...-brutal-fencer-fighter-build.html#post4507740), but my original intent was to restrict it to clung targets. Also, for the sake of balance, I gave proficiency with shortswords and shortbows for Small-sized characters. I would have preferred a one-handed heavy blade for them, but alas, all of them are versatile. I eventually decided that shortswords count as heavy blades for the purposes of class requirements. I'll see if this is broken or not. Finally, I'm curious how the ranged marking will work. Perhaps I can make something useful out of class powers later, or adjust that bonus. Regardless, I wanted to replicate the attention-getting ability of the bow in the game, but I'm worried about stepping on Defenders' toes.
Wanderer
Role: Striker
Power Source: Martial
Key abilities: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution
Armor Proficiencies: Cloth
Weapon Proficiencies: Shortsword, Longsword, Shortbow, Longbow
Bonus to Defense: +1 Fortitude, +1 Reflex
Hit Points at First Level: 12 + Constitution score
Hit Points per Level Gained: 5
Healing Surges per Day: 7 + Constitution Score
Trained Skills: Athletics and Religion. From the class skills list below, choose two more trained skills at first level.

Class Skills: Acrobatics (Dex), Athletics (Str), Endurance (Con), Perception (Wis), Religion (Int), and Stealth (Dex)
Class Features:
- Shortsword Focus: For the purposes of meeting any class feature or class power requirements, the shortsword counts as a heavy blade.
- Vital Strike: When grabbing or clinging to an enemy, once per round you may add 1d6 damage to a successful hit against the grabbed or clung target when striking with a heavy blade. This Bonus increases to 2d6 at 11th level and 3d6 at 21st level.
- Seek the Vitals: Once per round, as a move action, you may seek out the vitals of a target and add 1d6 to the next Vital Strike damage you deal. This move action must be followed by an attack.
- Fruitful Endurance: When you fall, you may reduce the damage as if you had fallen 10 ft. fewer. Increase this benefit to 20 ft. at 6th level, 30 ft. at 11th level, 40 ft. at 16th level, 50 ft. at 21st level, and 60 ft. at 26th level.
- Combat Focus: Choose one of the following fighting styles at first level:
- Mounted Archery: You gain the Mounted Combat feat as a bonus feat. In addition, any successful hit with a bow attack marks the target of the attack. If an attack with a bow targets two or more creatures, then you determine which one is marked.
- Persistent Sword: You gain the Sure Climber feat as a bonus feat. In addition, you may use your Constitution modifier to determine your AC while wearing light armor.
