Want to play some OLD SKOOL D&D?

Would you be interested in playing in an "old school" RC D&D game?

  • Sure, with the right group, could be fun. I'd try it out.

Quick question. Please take some time to click an answer. Unlike some of the polls here on enworld, which feature 17 different options (each with two votes at the end of the day), my poll has but two choices. Your input is needed!

EDIT: By "old skool" I just mean "pre-d20". Sorry for the confusion there, heh heh. :heh:

It will depends of what you mean by "old school." I prefer the old rules but I have no patient to stupid dungeon crawls, weird dungeons' ecologies, riddles, or labyrinths. I guess my answer is no, but I'm not sure of what you're asking in the first place.

Oh, come on now. You know what I meant. ;)

Thought: With the right group, could Synnibar be fun? FATAL? Perhaps...if the group included professional strippers or something.

Excellent point. I simply meant "pre-d20" by "old skool", although I know that the term usually has far more to it than that. :heh:

My sentiments exactly.

And I still love the Rules Cyclopedia soooo much. Every time I look at my copy, I want to run a campaign involving a fighter, cleric (preferably named "Aleena"), thief and elf ... up against Bargle and the Black Eagle Barony.

I've never much cared for 2nd ed. but I much prefer 1st ed. or even BECM to 3.0/3.5. I'm playing in a 1st ed. game now and having a great time!

You know, if someone handed me a copy of the RC with the numbers fixed up 3E style (AC starting at 10 and going up, BAB, etc.) ... I might be able to do that.

My group currently plays our own version of 'old-school' D&D. Players can have no more than one extra class (and that includes PrCs), and there's no power-gaming or min-maxing. It's been fun and quite reminiscent of what we enjoyed in bygone days.
