War of the Burning Sky

I was thinking about running this for my group at some point, but I was hoping to get opinions first from those that have run through several of the adventures. The first 7 adventures are out already. Has anybody played through most of the campaign path and has some opinions on what it's like?

Thanks

A few people in the EN Publishing forum have commented on their campaigns. I'm also sure I saw a Story Hour thread in the Story Hour forum. There are a couple of reviews in the reviews section, too.

We've (now I've jinxed it!) only had positive comments so far, which is encouraging.

Thanks, Morrus. I'll take a look at the EN Publishing forum. I've read and reviewed (and enjoyed) the first adventure, but I've yet to take a look at the others. I'd be interested in hearing how it plays.

Our characters are a fair way into the forest in the second adventure. See my story hour for details.

So far everyone is enjoying it, although there's been a fair few occasions when characters have been reduced to negative hit points. (Poor old Gribron has suffered this three times so far.)

Its very interesting to run, as there is lots of background information given to the DM, and plenty of foreshadowing as you go along. However, it does require that you read the adventure through properly, which is not something I'm very good at - I like to flit about a lot.

My group just finished the second module... but I have read/prepped out to module 6. :)

Things I really like about the arc:
- Detailed campaign backstory.. it answers the 'why' of the plot-lines
- Story driven, many of the modules have a portion of 'what if...' where the authors look at the impact of possible endings. For example, If the PC's fail to capture the Case in module #1, the storyline doesn't fall apart.
- Setting Generic. You can fit the story into many published settings with little effort. I am running the game in the Eberron world.
- Many encounters have options for non-combat resolutions.

Things I don't like about the arc:
- My group only plays once a month, so despite having read/preped through #... we are starting #3...
{Oh wait, thats an issue with my groups schedule :) }

But seriously, I am very much enjoying the game and think the campaign is one of the better designed ones out there.

Thanks! Those are useful comments. I've picked up some good hints, advice and general information from the threads pointed out. Very useful. By and large, it seems fun and well worth running.
