What is the street date in the US! ;)

The worldwide release date is March 29. That day the core book, the Plundered Vaults adventure anthology, and the Character Pack will all be available.

I have the original WFRP book from Games workshop, is there a big difference between editions?

Don't hold me to this but not really, clean up of the magic system is about it but all in all the two are compatible.

The heart of the game is the same. It's still a career-based game that uses percentile dice for resolution. And of course there are insanity rules. However, the game now only requires d10s to play, the magic system is entirely new, and the rules have generally been streamlined and modernized. If you want to take advantage of the many new supplements coming down the pipe, you'll want a copy of the new rules.

Questions that spring to mind:

Are races any more balanced than before?

Have races been expanded to allow for PC skavens, orcs, etc?

Does a spellcasting career path still require a player to advance through a procession of failrly impotent professions before casting spells with any degree of effectiveness?

Do characters still have the lifespans of mayflies? Does a 20-foot drop still cause characters to routinely explode like M-80's?

LOL...lots of fun memories flooding in. Fun game, for what it was.

I think these two are specifically addressed in the preview, with the answers yes and no. Apparently, a wizard can now spend the first half of his career as more than the party's umbrella.
