Too bad they don't have a Warhammer 40K RPG. Space Marines!

If they do, I'd sure love to hear about it. The closest thing I came accross were rules for a "skirmish" type game. I think you controlled 1 or more minis as you did "covert-op" type missions.

But, IMO, it's all "flavor" anyway.

Cool! I've always liked the "grim future" feeling of Warhammer 40K. Kinda similar to the feeling I get from Blade Runner or Alien/s.

There used to be a 40K to WHFRP conversion on the web, but the site seems to have poofed. Might be out there in an archive somewhere, if you feel like searching.

Given a decent knowledge of the background, games like Hero or GURPS can do 40K pretty well. I know I've seen people run homebrews like that at cons, so it wouldn't surprise me if there were some conversions floating around the web.

So far as d20 goes, Warhammer Fantasy would be pretty easy to do in D&D - get some classes and some monsters, maybe a little Cthulhu-type rules for dealing with Chaos, and you're ready to go. 40K less so, I think. Like a lot of sci-fi, 40K seems to be a setting where people would start off with a fairly mature set of abilities, rather than at the lowest rung on a 20+ level ladder, so the advancement paradigm is sufficiently different that the work required to shoehorn it in might just as well be spent on a new system.

Well, this info is more accurate than the last time someone thought they had the info, but still has many errors. Black Industries ought to be announcing the official schedule later this month.
