Level Up (A5E) Warlocks and two weapon fighting.

Hey!

A question of balance mostly, but if a player wanted to use eldritch scythe and a off-hand weapon, would you let them engage in two weapon fighting? The rules seem to not let you, as you don't actually make an attack with a weapon during your attack action.

Also, what happens at level 5 and you take thirsting blade and get an extra attack. It reads to me like you replace one attack with the (then two) eldritch scythe attacks, then make a normal attack with your pact weapon. Would that then mean you can make two off-hand attacks as a bonus action due to two weapon fighting and make 5 attacks in a turn?

If you can't, do you think it would be too powerful to let it happen anyway? I was thinking of just running it as follows, the eldritch scythe replaces all attacks in the attack action, but also counts as a weapon so you can use two weapon fighting.
