Read closer, it's Xod GoldenAXE.

Anyway, they could call the book "Dancing Bunnyrabbit Dingleberries" for all I care. The world kick's ass, I'll buy it.

I think we recognize the jokes will never end :) But I will still look at the product. Again, only because AEG has done such good work with worlds in the past...

(I'll always think of polka music, though, when I hear the title...)

EDIT - Man, that Tekumel site is daunting! multiple languages, including one which has *34* forms of the pronoun, "you". I kid you not.

A brief history of Tekumel...

The first Tekumel boxed set came out in 1975, I think, and may have been the first ever published campaign world. Subsequent publications weren't very sucessful due to a variety of reasons, but the crunchiest work would be Swords and Glory Volume One, which is a densely packed description of the setting without any gaming system.

There's more about this stuff on the Tekumel site, in the 'Excellent Travelling Volume' section.

There's going to be a new game coming out in November from Guardians of Order: http://www.guardiansorder.com/tekumel/

I'll definately be picking that one up. Maybe we can hope for a d20 conversion at some point, too? The original version 'Empire of the Petal Throne' was an OD&D clone, anyway...

Has all of the Tekumel stuff been published outside of the website?

If so in how many volumes and over what period of time?

Until the GOO game comes out, you can find the books on Ebay, Nobleknight.com, and some other places that stock out-of-print RPG's. I'd recommend the "Tekumel Sourcebook" volumes 1-3, which are very affordable considering the amount of information.

"The Book of Ebon Bindings" is the rules-free supplement on Demonology that makes the BoVD look suitable for children.

Er, um, while I'd still buy it with that title, I'd probably cover the artwork on the front of the book with something else.
**shivers at the thought **

"The bargain is ever for thirteen."

Well it seems like they have already chosen the name and created the covers and artwork that uses that name but I still think that there's a good chance that they will change the name of the game if we make a big enough stink about it.

After all, it is only now that they have gone public with it and they may be taken aback by our reaction to the name, so much so that they may even change it.

Somebody has got to look over at the resume of the guy who came up with that name. It was probably a suit from marketing than one of the game designers.
