The divine part is what causes it to get by fire resitance. The warmage gets "Flame Strike" not "Firespell that operates like flamestrike's 50% fire resitance ignore"

If anybody asks, just say the warmage is channeling the general principle of nuking things.

I'd say that it would be half divine damage, the Warmage calling upon any receptive divinity or otherplanar power, like Dr. Strange calling upon Cytorrak or the Vishanti.

In a world where wizards get contact other plane, a little divine damage from a warmage's flame strike doesn't bother me.

He is probably referring to the FR Arcane Devotee prestige class. Arcane Disciple is a non-world-specific feat.

In FR, the divine damage of warmage is granted by Mystra. Or Shar, in some circumstances. Unless it is from Kossuth, who likes fire as much as 8BT-Fighter likes swords.

Elsewhere this could be damage granted by the archomentals. Zaaman-Rul or Imix, depending on your alignment.

Or maybe the warmage is channeling directly the metaphysical essence of the elemental plane of fire -- not fire itself, but the energy that is behind the very concept and existence of fire.
