Warmage queries.

To adress the OP's questions: There are several Evocation spells that provide nice utility for Warmages and can be taken through Eclectic Learning or whatever it's called. Battlefield Control through Defenestrating Sphere, Blacklight, Wall of Force or similar means are nice. Contingency is always good, as well, although you will only be able to link your limited reservoir...

The Arcane Disciple feat puts a single domain's spells on your class spell list, making them available for casting whenever. Needs at least above-average Wisdom, however.

The Extra Spell feat does this for any one spell of whatever class's list (arguably).

Sandshaper, Wyrm Wizard, Recaster and some other PrCs give you new spells known.

Ultimate Magus lets you transfer spells from your spellbook over to your spells known for the Warmage side, but UM is rather weak for Warmages, generally speaking, and you're more of a Wizard now, anyway.

Ultimate versatility is granted by the Rainbow Servant PrC - which may or may not cost you four levels of spellcasting progression (an issue of text vs. table), but puts all Cleric spells on your list.

Apparently I'd never read this particular class before, I'm quite thoroughly amazed by it. Thanks for pointing this one out to me.
Three good domains, innate flight, couple of at wills, and full access to Cleric spells for an Arcane caster? Thats great!

Also, Wizards has stated time and time again that the text is always the definitive version when their is a table vs. text disconnect, so full casting progression along the way.

I think if I decide to play a Warmage next character, that is definitely what I'm going to choose.

Thanks to everyone for their ideas (especially Sand Shaper, by the way).

Warmages lend themselves very, very well to becoming Rainbow Servants, because of their casting mechanism. Spontaneously cast every spell on the Cleric spell list? Heck, yeah!

However, the text vs. table thing, while clearly confirmed by WotC to favor text, is not as clear-cut in this example IMHO. I firmly believe that it's simply a typo in the text that was never errata'ed, and the table is what one should go by in the case of the Rainbow Servant. Otherwise, your DM will slap you around some when you present your case...

I'm typically the DM (haven't been a player in a real, in person game in years now), and a spontaneous caster that presented with me the desire to become the Rainbow Servant would get a long, disapproving look. Not because spontaneous casting of Cleric spells is amazingly overpowered (Favoured Soul anyone?), but because they get to do it with only 10 levels of a class that grants other abilities too.

While it may be clear to some that the intent was to prevent level 9 Casting by level 20, Wizard's official stance is to believe the text.

Also, having to come up with a plot arc to get a party to the hidden jungle temples of the couatl would be a gigantic PITA.

I do need to add that in their sample Rainbow Servant, we see Anya Za Nan, Sorc6/RS4. A level 10 Sorcerer should have 5th level spells, where Anya Za Nan only has 4th level spell, which supports the argument that the table is correct over the text.

...and that is a HUGE difference. Favored Souls are actually very much handicapped because they have to choose their spells known with care.

Quite. I edited my post to show you the sample Rainbow Servant, which is a Sorc6/RS 4.
She has access to 4th level spells as if she were following the table, rather than the 5th level spells she'd have access to by following the text.
