You're right. We should discuss it. I would like people to argue less about how Morrus said what he said, and start focusing on what his actual concerns are. I don't mind a discussion, but the title of this thread is the sort of thing that polarizes a discussion into a dispute. Why not ask, "What is your opinion of Morrus's grievances?"

At the end of the day, it's Morrus's site, he can do and say whatever he wants.

I'm also not voting in the poll because it distracts from the real issues Morrus needed to raise.

At the risk of P-kitty's ire, I agree with RangerWickett, Auluyan, and Turanil - thread closed. And since I'm not a mod I can say something they can't - Russ doesn't condone or endorse my actions: They're entirely my own.

I understand his frustrations.

Over the years the publishing companies have been supporting (and respecting) fan sites less and less.

The WotC "Official" fansites (e.g, Athas.org, Birthright.net, TequilaStarrise.net., Alternity.net, etc.) have been getting less and less feedback and help from the company. This is sad since these sites are keeping unsupported campaign settings alive just in case WotC decides to bring them back.

I personnally don't think this is all the fault of the officals at WotC but most likely a reflection on the influence of the parent company in the situation. "Make money or else." Its sad when business takes over from personal interaction and relationships in something as personal as a RPG.

In the past there was a more personal feedback system and it kept the company in touch with the fans but no it looks like they are getting more and more impersonal about how they are doing business. Such is the power of the dollar I guess. *Sigh*
