just saw the new giant book in the wild and was wondering if it is worth anything or is it a meh book?
That can only really be answered by you, depending on what you want.

I haven't read it all the way through yet, but I have only heard good reviews about it. I have enjoyed the bestiary, some of the best designed monsters by WotC in 5e. Makes me look forward to the 2024 MM. That's as far as I have gotten, but I have heard good things about the barbarian subclass and giant enclaves.

It is definitely a DM's book for creating adventures with giants. If that interests you then I think it is a good book for you. If not, probably not.

I haven't really heard much about the magic items or feats.

The DM stuff is good. Some of the player stuff (lookin' at you Rune Knight) is too good in a power-creep way, in the way that a lot of later 5e stuff has been (especially since Tasha's). That's my opinion ofc, and I run much more often than play- I just see lots of utility and power in it when comparing it to one of the "better-designed" subclasses like Battlemaster.
