Watermark's Temple of Mysteries

"Can I see the rod?" Aieron asks quickly. The urgency in his voice seems to show that he has an idea.

Once he has it he'll move to the center of the room and cast a quick Detect Magic spell. If it turns up positive on the rod, or anything else, he'll examine it with his Knowledge(Arcana) skills.

Thar's slightly greenish tongue sticks out from the corner of his mouth in concentration as he labels each of the potions. Once done, he pockets the gold one ("For Luck") and leaves the others in the still open compartment.
"Potions for all." He says to the others. He looks around the room for a moment, eyes glancing to the unsearched body beneath the bad mirror, but turns his attention to Grimbold instead.
Walking over to the big barbarian, Thar asks, "Your hand hurt?"

"I know stoneworks and engineering a bit from days past, but I can't find anything odd 'ere. Everything looks solid. I don't think anything is moving without a key." he says, glancing as the strange metal rod. "Any luck with that thing, Aieron?"

You can all hear frustration starting to creep into Darian's voice. He is not a patient man, and has been steadily growing more annoyed since the battle with the statue.

Therren willing gives up the cylinder to his elven companion, then walks over the bookcase along the southern wall. After examing it for a moment or two: "I wonder if I could ... umph ... move this a little", he grunts as he attempts to put words into action. [can he do this? does it have any results? i.e. a secret passage behind or anything else as wonderful? :heh: ]

Jarten examines the green residue in the cauldron and walls, trying not to touch it directly (using a stick or the dagger). If he´s not able, he´ll call for help ("Does anyone have an idea of what´s this?)

After that he look into the pile of rope and timber, looking for something hidden there.

"Aye," affirms Grimbold, looking at his bleeding hand. Little rivulets of red run all over it, but its a sight the barbarian is accustomed to. "But I'm still kicking, no?"

Grimbold takes a closer look at the amber tip of the spear. Can the piece be removed? Can the entire spear be removed? If the search turns up nothing, Grimbold will rejoin the others and see what they have found. He was never one for investigation.

Within a few moments of concentration, Aieron senses several magical auras. The cauldron on the north wall emanates a faint aura of divination. The two mirrors, although broken, both register a faint aura of enchantment. Another faint aura comes from the unsearched corpse lying on the ground in the eastern portion of the room. The copper cylinder, however, has no magical aura. [Captain Tagon, With so many different sources of magical aura, please specify what Aieron examines first.]

Therren puts his shoulder to the bookcase filled with bottles, and gives it a shove. The case moves a couple of feet, as the rogue slides it along the wall. As he does, the stoppered bottles and vials on the shelves clink and rattle alarmingly, as they wobble from the motion. [Dexterity Check: 23] The vials rattle and shake, but thanks to Therren's skill, none of them topple to the floor. The wall behind the case, however, looks just the same as the walls throughout the rest of the room...solid stone, with the people in the mosaic making their procession.

Picking up a piece of kindling, Jarten scrapes at the green residue in the cauldron. It flakes into green powder, and settles harmlessly at the bottom. The residue on the walls behaves similarly. It leaves the tip of the kindling branch stained green, but that's all.

Turning to the pile of rope and planks, the paladin rummages around [Search Check: 6], but comes up with nothing hidden...just a jumble of wood and ropes.

It doesn't look like the staff [not a spear] in its entirety could be removed, as it is merely a part of the statue. The amber tip, however, may be a different story. Pulling out a javelin, the barbarian sets the point to try to pry the stone loose. He gives a great heave [Strength Check: 15] and is rewarded for his efforts as the gem pops loose. It does appear to be an amber gemstone, well cut, and very pretty.

Seeing that Grimbold's injuries aren't serious, Thar returns his attention to the body beneath the mirror. He kneels beside it and first looks over its remains, then begins going through it's belongings.

OOC: Looking for cause of death first if it can be determined, then searching.

Aieron mutters slightly under his breath about the number of magical auras in the room. Shrugging to himself however, he heads towards the unsearched body and prepares to examine it to determine what about it is magical.

OOC: He'll move from the body to the cauldron to the two mirrors trying to determine their magical properties.
