Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and encouragement! This forum is very different than the Bioware fan forum I'm used to! 
Eltab, you are exactly right about the 5 foot loss. I figured with her being over 6 feet tall, outstretched arms, etc that it was close enough. We don't use miniatures or a battle-map, so exact range hasn't been a huge concern so far. I would love to get some miniatures to use for when they reach higher levels and have more complicated spells and abilities, but they do tend to be a bit expensive. I'll have to look up the White Plume Mountain adventure! Thanks for the tip!
