Waxing Chaotic......huh?

So I turned on the TV tonight to watch my regular recorded programs and turned on the cable box by mistake. The first two words I heard were "waxing chaotic". I have never heard this phrase before. What does it mean and how is it properly used in context?

I think it's a fancy way of saying that you are pondering, considering or discussing something.

"So they wax chaotic about what their favourite song is."

"I was waxing chaotic about the state of our country."

I spose its just an adaption of 'Waxing Lyrical'. When you discuss something at great length, making yourself sound fancy without saying much? So rather than being 'fancy' waxing chaotic would just be 'random'.

Some part deep inside me want to use it, but say 'Waxing Chaotical' =p

i've heard "waxing quixotic" - not sure what that means, but maybe that's what you actually heard?

No, I remember that I specifically heard Chaotic, and to clinch it the phrase was even on my closed captions.
