Ways to boost HPs on an BBEG

What I meant is that, much like Incarnum Fortified Body, there is a Psionic feat- Psionic Body- that gives bonus HP for each Psionic Feat you take.

I was just adding to the thought, sorry if that was not clear. :(

Psionic body has the added benefit of being a psionic feat, so it gives 2 hit points. I have no idea why the incarnum version is not an incarnum feat, it might be because the incarnum one has a different special ability on it but the extra it gives looks worthless to me.

I think the way the Incarnum Body feat is worded is because to be an Incarnum feat, the feat must have a prereq of having an Essentia pool of some kind. However, I believe that the Incarnum Body feat explicitly says that you get bonus HP for having the Incarnum Body feat itself.

Incarnum feats are designed to hold essentia and get some sort of a benefit. They could have easily made the feat an incarnum feat by having it give 1 hit point per incarnum feat you have per essentia placed into the feat. It could also give 1 essentia and give a bonus on massive damage saves based on the amount of essentia placed into it.

That seems a lot more in line with the book anyway.

Nope, it does not. I think that it should, but it does not.

Incarnum-Fortified Body, however, is not listed as an Incarnum feat. You do not devote incarnum to it, as you do with the Incarnum feats. Incarnum-Fortified Body grants 2hp for every Incarnum feat you possess, and every time you gain a new incarnum feat, you gain another 2hp.

Make him the chosen of Mystra. +10 to con and some other nifty abilities. It would be helpful to know the build a little bit. Race, level, feats. I would add a template that is constitution heavy or just give him a few extra HP. What kind of hp boost are you looking for?

Let him take the Spellfire Feat- possibly even levels in the Spellfire Wielder PrCl- so he can absorb the PCs spells and heal himself...

Shield Other

Just give the BBEG a buddy with Shield Other to soak damage.

I like the idea of a evil priest with a Mimic buddy. The priest uses Imbue with Spell Ability to give the Mimic the Shield Other spell. The Mimic takes the form of a throne. Sharp eyed adventures may notice that the BBEG's throne seems to take damage when they attack the BBEG. I like the symbolism. B)

Except then, the PCs realize that their spells are harming them in the long run, and so switch to an all-out physical assault. The mages use whatever buff spells they have, while the classes that can melee do so.

Potion or Scroll of Bears Endurance (or any spell that boosts Con as a potion/scroll). BBEG's HP increase (because of better con) and the PCs won't get an overpowered magic item (cause it's used). It can be the BBEG's own spell (if they're of a casting class) or cast via a henchman as well.

How about a level of Barbarian? Or a Ring of Spell Storing with a doubly-empowered Bear's Endurance for +8 Con? Plus a Heal spell, of course, courtesy of his intelligent Evil sword.
