Ways you can Abuse a Shifter

Huh, I always thought it was a high levels that psychic warriors shine the most.

I think his point is that since they are not primary spellcasters, they lose less form not progressing in magic than a druid does. The few PP and known poers gained from levels 11-20 are more than made up for by massive shapechanging abilities.

And if they plan ahead, they could choose feats that benefit their new forms. You want abuse :D, Mental Leap and Iron golem {SQUISH}, Body Fuel and Troll Regeneration, Unavoidabile Strike and Dire Animal Claw/Claw/Bite.

Note that a Psychic Warrior can meet the Shifter req. at 10th level and the Shifter's many forms are probably better than the Psy War's Psionic advancement, but giving up all those psionic feats hurts a little.

Only 4 feats, he still has specialization (probably unarmed if he was planning on being a shifter) and can still take psionic Feats.

Overall this is probably the weakest casting shifter combination, except maybe the Ranger/Shifter, who can't qualify until after 14th level.

Why weak? A Ranger of 14th level will have a very good base attack bonus and good favored enemy bonus, and he does not lose much spellcasting power.

If he can`t rely on his wild shape abilities, he will still be a good fighter...

Actually I think the point of the Shifter is to take the PrC asap... ...5 levels as a Cleric / Druid / Wizard or 6 as Sorcerer / Psion would be quite the same, cause every class can benefit from his spells and features in a different way: divine can use the armor that functions in wild shape and have better hit points (that you retain in wild shape), while arcane have haste, shiled, mage armor and so on that can stack with almos anything the wild shape has... ...it's just a matter of how you want to plan ahead...
