5.14e PHB vs 5.24e PHB

In practice I say:

"5e"

and if necessary to distinguish, I might say,

5.14 or 5.24

Still as many characters to type as 2014 and 2024, but in light of the 3.0 and 3.5 precedent, the 5.14 and 5.24 looks analogous and doable. At least what these numbers mean is self-evident and fair.

One D&D isn’t a product, so in this sense it doesn’t exist and never has.

You cannot deny the existence of the One D&D playtest packages. OneD&D exists because playtesters spent hours pouring over them and giving feedback. One D&D is real.

The Adventures, sure. But no "D&D Next" aside from playtests. And "OmeD&D", which was about the VTT and Beyond integration more than the rules before they dropped the term, never has that much. And 5.5 will never get as much as OneD&D!

Never says never. You don't know what they plan. What if it's called OneD&D and says compatible with D&D5 on the bottom of cover.

They specifically dropped the OneD&D wording for their physical/digital initiative over a year, ago, and specifically stated that they dropped the term because they saw people getting confused and using it as a name for the "edition." They won't bring it back, same as they won't repeat the ".5" goofiness.
