:( :( :( :( :( So sorry to hear of your loss!!! Losing a dog is the worst- at least you got to say goodbye. Must look on the bright side of a dark dark moment. :(

If you need anything, call out- there are a lot of people here that love you. If you want to or need to, feel free to email- I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd be happy to give you my phone # if you need a friendly voice.

Take care, and just remember- you gave Sprocket a couple of good years, I'd wager her best years. Take heart from that.

Is that a britney? They're prone to siezures and its worse if they are inbred. Good breeders won't let that happen. Bad breeders who are out to make a buck should suffer the same fate.

Ah, disregard. I didn't catch the last line. Sorry for your loss.

Yeah, she was a brittany. And of course it could have been bad breeding. Since she was a rescue, we know nothing about her bloodline.

What we do know, however, is that some monster mistreated her horribly. She carried birdshot in one of her legs and rump, she had burn scars on her face that were about the size a lit cigarette would make, and the sight of a man wearing cowboy boots would make her cringe in terror. When we got her, she was afraid of wooden spoons, yardsticks, hammers, rolled up newspapers, flashlights--anything long that could be used as a weapon.

I have a cold, abiding anger for her original owner. It's a good thing I don't know who he is.

Buttercup, I wanted to say I'm very sorry to hear it. I used to own a Miniature Poodle, who we rescued from a kennel, an she passed in the EXACT same way - ironically, back in 2001 (March). The doctor told us it was a rare blood disease, and we had to put her down several days later as a result. I know how you feel; they don't know what's going on, but you do, and it really stinks to feel that helpless.

I hope the pain passes with time. My prayers with you and your husband.
