We passed the John Cooper challenge!

Normally I just lurk in the corner somewhere, but I'm so estatic that John Cooper gave Denizens of Avadnu a 5 out of 5 that I'm posting in glee! That puts us at #9 on the top 20 products of all time. Wahoo! :D

On a more serious note, we put a lot of effort into our products and we do get down at times because of our slow turnaround, and the state of the industry does have us somewhat reeling, but this really makes it all worth the effort.

So of the people that have purchased Denizens of Avadnu, what bits did you find most interesting and what would you like to see from us in the future?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, John has an awesome eye for minute detail in game mechanics.

As far as what I'm using, I've been filing off the names of the things in the back of the book... Xyys or something? I like the whole concept of the 'Void' creatures too but wish we had some more specific examples or 'named' entities if you will. I'm a sucker for those dark and evil things that are beyond standard good and evil.

I wouldn't mind seeing some different kinda artwork. D&D on acid just isn't my thing. :)

Also I submitted my writing samples awhile back and never got a reply. So I would like to see a reply. :)

I liked the illustrations :)

Unfortunately, I am not DoA's target audience, as I don't particularly enjoy epic gaming. So the monsters will, afaik, never be used by me or in my group.

Still, it's a nice thing to have; who knows when I might need it despite my expectations. So if you get a strange e-mail with feedback on this book in 12 years, don't be surprised :)

Perchance might you be confusing the book with their PDF Legends of Avadnu? Denizens of Avadnu has normal creatures with 1-20 CR range (or thereabouts.)

Your talking about the xxyth. We were going to do a few xxyth lords for Legends of Avadnu, but decided against it because we figured unique creatures wouldn't be as popular as doing monsters you could get more use out of. I'll add this as an upcoming web feature for our Violet Dawn website.

Hehe. OK, like what images specifically? Just the whole style of the presentation in general or are there some in particular you had a problem with. We went for D&D that is different, but not different for the sake of being different. You sent in samples? To which address? I don't usually handle them and we get quite a few from what I hear. I'll check on it. . .

This has been a problem I've noticed and I can blame myself for the naming conventions we used. Legends of Avadnu contains Epic Level Monsters and that is a PDF product. Denizens of Avadnu is a 224 page full-color hardcover that is for CRs 1/4 up to 20. Check it out, its good for all levels of play and we're having a sale on DoA for the holidays.

I've also made this mistake a couple of times (confusing the two products). Since Legends is a PDF product, it wouldn't be too difficult make a minor name change.

Just keep doing products with the great production values and creativity that went into "Denizens" and you'll have a customer for life here.
