Weakening Touch (CW) - no save?

I don't have the description handy, but basically it says that a character with the Weakening Touch feat (from Complete Warrior) can impose a -6 penalty to the target's strength if he declares use of the feat and causes damage with an unarmed strike (but uses up one of the Stunning Fist attacks for the day).

No where is a saving throw mentioned. It seems to be automatic if the declared unarmed strike is successful.

Can someone please confirm? If so, my Monk will be taking this feat at some stage!

I don't remember what it says in CW, but if it doesn't say it has the same limitations and save as a stunning attack, then I'm certainly not allowing it in my campaign! :p

Seriously, if it doesn't say that, then that must be simply because they forgot to put it in there. Expect to see it changed in the very first errata for CW.

hmm.. if there is no save that is pretty strong..

but assuming that it doesnt stack with itself, you have to declare it before you find out if you hit or not, you have to do damage, takes up a stunning fist useage, and costs a feat to even have the opportunity?

seems like it is roughly the same strength as a ray of enfeeblement, but more limited in a lot of ways.

Actually, Weakening Touch does no damage.

Spending a Stunning Fist attempt and needing to successfully hit the target with an attack that does no damage seems to me to be a pretty fair trade-off for -6 to the target's Strength. And while the Strength penalty is not named, it is specifically stated that it does not stack with itself.
