Weapon Finesse and Unarmed Attacks

Hi all,

A simple question, could a monk, with a low strength, gain the bonuses that is normally granted with weapon finesse for their unarmed attacks? It's not listed in the PhB when I was reading the feat, but what could be more of a "light weapon" than no weapon at all.

Thanks in advance to the wise and all-knowing experts here at EN World!

Under "Special" in the feat description, it says that natural attacks (which for humanoids includes unarmed attacks) are always considered light weapons.

This is one of the primary ways that halfling monks can even the playing field.

Hi!

It's also on page 121 of the PHB under Strike, Unarmed: "An unarmed strike is always considered a light weapon. Therefore, you can use the Weapon Finesse feat (page 102) to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with an unarmed strike."

Enjoy!
