Heya experts!

Need a quick ruling on Weapon Finesse!

I have a ranger using two short swords. Thanks to two-weapon fighting he attacks with both each round. If he takes weapon finesse, can he use his dex bonus for both attacks? Yes?

The PH says nothing about two weapon attacks in conjunction with weapon finesse. But... It does mention that if I use a shield, then I will suffer the armor check penalty because you need your second hand for balance. But you can still use it with a shield, so am I right in thinking that carrying the second short sword would work fine?

I'm hardly an expert, but here:

Yes, you can most certainly use the dex bonus to attack with all shortsword attacks, even during a full attack action with offhand and regular attacks. In fact, you've discovered one of the smarter ways to play a ranger, since he needs dex anyway and gets the TWF stuff for free.

A gnomish battle pick (S&F) small, weight 5, 1d6 / x4

Weapon Finesse can be applied to light weapons, what is a light weapon? Small weapons and the Raiper?

One size smaller than you are. Rapier is a special case.

I believe that this was addressed in the official D&D FAQ. If it isn't there, I have seen confirmation from the sage somewhere else that yes, you can use weapon finesse for both you on hand and your off hand.

He's actually a Rogue-Ranger with two short swords, weapon focus, weapon finesse, two-weapon fighting, ambidexterity, and a 22 dex. (He's a 7th lev elf with gloves of dex +2) Mithral shirt looks good on him too!

Oh- I can't wait to get some flanking in! Woo Hoo!
