Weapon Focus bonus unnamed?

In MEG's Guilds and Adventuers, there is an adventurer's guild that you can join and gain minor benefits from. One of those is a +1 competence bonus to hit.

Now one of my friends feels that Weapon Focus gives you a competence bonus but after looking at Weapon Focus 3.0 and 3.5, I don't see where it states what type of bonus it is.

Some bonuses are unamed.

That means they stack with all other types.

It's unnamed.

If it wasn't, it wouldn't stack with a lot of other stuff. I think the point is to make it stackable with almost anything else.

This might be from one of those weird dreams I have, Or I could be making this up; but aren't unnammed bonuses gone from D&D?

The concept of unnamed bonuses still exists. There are just fewer of them, since most bonuses now have names. (Ferinstance, a masterwork weapon now gives an enhancement bonus to hit, instead of an unnamed bonus with a special exception to its stackingness.)
